It's hard to believe it's been three years since Firstfire got involved with the Water Festival and created a musical event to bring a new level of excitment to what was already a pretty great way to spend a day at the lake.
We are really proud of this year's lineup , that including several recording artists who are generating some buzz. The Command Sister from Edmonton just before they head to Canmore Folk fest, several former Satori Life members regrouped as Black Sky Beach, and Shelly Lynch from Fernie B.C. The timeslot schedule will be posted closer to festival day, as time can be a little elastic when commitees get involved. Plan to spend the day, you won't regret it, there are lots of great activities scheduled through out the day.
First Fire is proud to sponsor the 3nd Annual Chestermere Battle of the Bands 2011 and Guitar Hero Tournament on Friday Sept 16, 2011 Outdoors Chestermere Recreation Centre at the Teen Youth Bash.
The Lake Studios hosts the Chestermere Idol on Saturday
We are hoping to offer a hand up to one band that is serious about their craft and want to go further with music. All bands will get the chance to perform in front of a crowd with professional sound production, a great opportunity for exposure to potential new fans.
The winning band will also win 8 hours of recording time to capture their special sound onto CD, courtesty of FirstFire Productions. Second place winners will receive a gift certificate from Sak’s Music Chestermere.
Bands will need to register in advance via email to BOB2011@FirstFireProductions.com and submit some information about themselves. Nothing really personal, just things like: type of music, groups you sound like, number of people, instruments used, your website/myspace/reverb nation, Youtube videos if you have them.
