Chestermere Water Festival Music Showcase 2011

2011 Chestermere Water Festival and First Fire Productions host the 3rd Annual Summer Music Showcase with continuous live entertainment from 1:00p.m. to 11:00p.m and a fireworks display over the water!!

The Chestermere Water festival is an all ages, all walks of life, festival and the musical entertainment will reflect that as well. Building on a tradition started in 2009, several different bands will be playing 45 - 50 minute sets with single and duo acts featuring singer/songwriters to entertain everyone while the next band is set up.

This year's showcase offers a bumper crop of new songs from the independent artists, many of whom are playing other festivals in Alberta like Canmore, Red Deer, Drumheller and Slave Lake. There will also be a healthy helping of well known crowd favourites from the 50's to current.

Since the focus is on variety genres range from mellow jazz to full on rock and roll, with everything in between, including:

blues
country
pop and alternative rock

Black Sky Beach		Netty Mac

Netty Mac delivers dynamic live performances that are powered by a genuine soul that will make your heart ache and then rock your socks off leaving you wanting more. Netty is a Canadian self-taught singer, songwriter, entertainer that is backed by the talented Netty Mac Band. Her gutsy tone and passion for all genres of music has molded Netty Mac’s trademark style. Netty Mac is a local Calgary band that is entertaining, engaging and packed with music and style that is sure to put a bounce in the entire family's bum!
The Command Sisters		1 Foot Party
Think of Taylor Swift but there would be two of her and she would have a lot more soul, mixed with the kind of sibling harmonies that would make The Rankins question whether they are truly related, ask them to play pretty much any instrument under the sun and you have The Command Sisters. The Command Sisters have been taking the music scene by storm all with their unique sound, hair-raising harmonies and a captivating live show. With one-of-a-kind original material (not only far beyond their years, but totally and completely their own) these two enchanting performers have emerged quickly onto the scene, and stealing hearts, everywhere from Alberta to Tennessee. Look for them this summer at CBC's Benefit Concert for Slave Lake (sharing the stage with George Canyon, Johnny Reid, Emerson Drive and others), Edmonton Folk Music Fest and Canmore Folk Fest. The girls are excited to announce that they will be returning to Nashville at the end of June to begin their journey as part of a newly signed publishing deal. Second CD 'Fly' available.		The host band, the roadies, the booking agents, the everything else that needs to be done guys - with their finger firmly on the nostalgia button. 1 Foot plays lots of great popular songs rock, blues, country and jazz Thanks to internet radio and youtube over 10,000 people have seen or heard 1 Foot online, but they are way more fun live. The 2011 Chestermere Water Festival will also see a sneek peak release EP before their first full length CD and next video this fall.

This year's master of cermonies is Shelly Lynch from Fernie B.C. Her engaging sense of humor, and real life stories are the basis for two CD releases. The Dream Big album was released internationally in 2008 with the songs "Plowin’ and Cryin”, “Dream Big” and “You Can’t Look Back” released to radio as well as distribution with CDbaby; including iTunes, Napster and many others.
Shelly will also share some of her favorite songs during two special performances Saturday evening.

Nique Bruce		The Raynmen
With a nod to the unplugged artists of the 80s and 90s, Nique’s acoustic pop/folk/rock mix is one of a kind, a talent as unique and slightly reminiscent of that Fort McLeod girl Joni Mitchell! Nique Bruce has been playing around Calgary since she was 5 years old. Yes at 5 she was busking at Eau Claire Market and even had a TV show made about her. She’s all grown up now, and her talent is in full bloom, with more stage experience than people twice her age.		With shout outs to old school in-your-face no-nonsense bands these guys are rootsy, hard-hitting quartet whose songs range from poignant to light-hearted in theme, with Mick's Daniel's sense of humour - sometimes dark, sometimes silly - sneaking in where you most and least expect it. They're a little bit country ... a little bit rock and roll ... a lot rootsy ... Based in Calgary, many of their songs have a western-Canadian flavour and references to local places and topics. the Lost Followers	The Lost Followers have recently released their debut CD entitled “Shootin’ the Moon”. A group of friends drawn together by a love of music and performing. . Performing both original and cover tunes, their diversified backgrounds create a unique approach to their music which ranges from folk to pop to country to blues to swing. The Lost Followers are delighted to have the opportunity to perform at the Chestermere Water Festival. Drop by and enjoy the music.
Bryson Waind	A Niagra bred boy, who grew up wine farming 15 vintages strong. This singer, songwriter has a genuine Canadian country folk style, you can hear his deep love of home that is his trademark Don't miss his performance, his songs will gather you in and take you home! Bryson has been featured on CBC radio 3 and begins a cross Canada tour following his appearance in Chestermere.
Loaded Dice	Loaded Dice is a fresh three piece band playing a mix of jump blues and swampy boogie-woogie, their original material and unique covers are accessible to everyone. If you like Colin James, CCR, ZZ top, The Blues Brothers and other good time party music, you'll love Loaded Dice.
